Thanks to some attempted online shopping at Zara, I just found out about Earth Hour, which will take place Saturday, March 29, 2014, from 8:30-9:30 PM.
I know I’m tardy to the party, but this was the first I’d heard of this campaign, which is in line with my own energy-saving philosophy. It reminds us that small energy saving habits have the power to change, and even save, the world. As California approaches summer in the middle of a serious drought, it would behoove us to turn off the lights, unplug electronics, turn off the water while we wash our hands, take shorter showers, and find new energy-saving habits to add to our routines.
As this Earth Hour video shows, the campaign has larger global implications, exemplifying people’s power to save the planet through positive, unified action.
